Normal duties resumed (adjusted for lack of personnel). Anthoon shunned by Michodo. Astynax and the fort cook thank Iason for saving them from fire.

Next day, normal duties. Mid afternoon teenage rider from Mylessos arrived seeking some kind of aid. Michodo instructs fort to treat him as honored guest, does not explain. Iason and Kypros get into minor squabble.

That evening several soldiers and riders arrived from Central Fort carrying payroll. Brief interrogations of each soldier regarding Orios's death.

Next morning, soldiers are paid. Later that morning, Anthoon called in to meet new lieutenant (Phedippus). Anthoon informed that Nikostas kidnapped healers from Mylessos. The healer from Mylessos specifically asked for Anthoon to help. Anthoon accepts mission to rescue healer and bring Nikostas & Co. to justice or to execution.

Group departs and rides to Mylessos without incident, and goes to healer temple. One kidnapped healer had escaped, gives Anthoon and Leucas some limited information about her kidnappers and their plans. Kosmas trades their worn out mule for a somewhat fresher pack horse.

Next morning, the group gathers supplies for their journey and sets out to the southeast. Terrain is hilly and difficult. Group becomes lost, eventually find their way to small village. Village is wary but willing to converse. Warns group of bandits, mentions tracks of travellers to the north of the village. Group finds tracks and continues pursuit briefly until twilight.

Group makes camp. Iason casts an Ironhand spell, comes up behind Kypros, and hits him on the leg. Kypros starts screaming, runs a short distance away, and starts casting Disruption spells at Iason. Kosmas draws his bow and Anthoon draws his sword. Everyone is shouting. Iason charges Kypros. Kosmas shoots an arrow between the two of them. Kypros runs away into the hills.

Group goes to sleep. Anthoon has first watch. Kypros returns, tries to get food from pack. Anthoon talks him down and Kypros goes to sleep. Anthoon and Kosmas go to talk, then get Leucas up. Anthoon proposes tying up both Iason and Kypros and whipping them. Leucas does not want to whip them. Agreement is reached on subduing and tying them up. Anthoon and Leucas grapple Iason. Kosmas grabs Kypros. Kosmas delivers a lecture to everyone that further misbehavior will be punished. Anthoon promises to hunt down and kill any deserters.
